Vehicle Description
The Triumph was produced between 1961 and 1967, combining a new, modern and aggressive body design by famed Italian stylist, Giovanni Michelotti with the basic chassis of the previous TR3A. The TR4 also improved passenger comfort with wind-up windows, face-level ventilation and an optional hardtop. The 2138cc engine of the late-production TR3A continued while the 1991cc engine was also made available to buyers who wanted to participate in two litre racing. When equipped with the optional overdrive, the TR4 was good for a top speed of almost 110mph. Today, the four-cylinder TR’s are among the easiest of post-war classic sports cars to own and maintain being supported by a multitude of component suppliers and other specialists.
The TR4 we offer for sale was exported to the US and repatriated to the UK in 1979. The Triumph was then converted to righthand drive and has benefited from time and investment over the years resulting in a lovely driveable car. The 4 cylinder 2.1ltr engine pulls well and has had a compression test to ensure all is well. The 4 speed gearbox benefits from the factory optioned overdrive unit in 3rd and 4th gear. We have refreshed the steering and brakes so that the car handles and stops as it should do. The red paintwork is in good order for a 57 year old car as is the black interior and made more comfortable by having more modern head rest seats placed in the car. The painted wire wheels, the hood and tonneau
covers are in good order and with an MOT until 31st July 2020 our little car is ready now to be driven away and enjoyed.
Jasmine Porschalink have been through a rigorous check including an engine compression test and has benefitted from a full service, new full steering rack, brake pads, engine and gearbox mounts, choke cables.
