The Supersport SSE Option M491 is a rare 911 believed but not confirmed to be numbers  offering 74 RHD UK cars of which only 17 were Targa bodies. Coded the M491 – the car cost £10,000 more than the standard Carrera and included the “Turbo Look” 911 and had the following variations over the standard Carrera – a Turbo body with wider front and rear wheel arches and deeper front spoiler, a turbo spoiler (Tea Tray), turbo Fuch wheels with rear 245/45VR16 tyres and front 205/55VR16 tyres, turbo brakes with 4 piston callipers and turbo suspension. The M491 was powered by a 3.2 litre flat 6 mated to the popular 5 speed G50 manual gear box. “For drivers with even more sporting aspirations“ was the official marketing line for the SSE model. 

This beautiful car is a UK registered car in August 1988 and its current owner acquired the car in May 2014. The V5 shows 9 owners but this is actually 8 because the current owner bought the car in his company name initially before transferring it to himself in March 2017. The car is painted in the popular Guards Red with a black leather interior. The current owner has driven the car only 5,000 miles since he bought it in May 2014. The car has been inspected by Jasmine Porschalink and had a major service on 30th March 2026. 

In 2016 Jasmine Porschalink managed a complete body strip down and repaint of the bodywork at 89,100 miles. The supporting photos and invoices on file show a spend of c£11,500 for the respray and bodywork. The excellent Guards Red paintwork remains in beautiful condition to this day and the wheels are unmarked. Internally the leather and carpets are in excellent condition. 

Rarely for a car of this age the invoice and receipts file shows a well maintained and serviced car.  The MOT’s go back to support the mileage as far back as 1995 when the car had covered 46,152 miles, and the service records are invoiced and dated back to 1988 when the car went in following its run in service at 853 miles.
