The 1.6 VCT-i Sigma engine replaced the original in 2014, introducing variable cam timing for improved power, torque, and efficiency. Output rose from 125bhp to 135bhp, and from 140bhp to 152bhp in uprated form, prompting the model change from Roadsport/Supersport to 270/310. Now discontinued, it remains a highly regarded and reliable unit.

This superb 270R delivers a refined yet engaging driving experience, perfectly balancing performance and the lightweight character Caterham is known for. The 135bhp is more than enough for both road enjoyment and track use, with the R-pack enhancing its sharp handling.

With just 4,400 miles and two owners, this example feels remarkably close to new and offers upgrade potential to 310R specification.
