1970 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Evocation For Sale. (Engine rebuilt by Air Cooled Specialist 2000 miles ago).
Jasmine Porschalink present this eye-catching tribute to one of the most sought-after 911 variants of all time: the hallowed Carrera RS.
The car is not a backdate but features the blend of a lighter 1970 Porsche 911E bodyshell mated to a fully reconditioned and rebored 2.9 litre engine running on electronic ignition, Weber 401DA 3C triple Carburettors and high lift Camshafts powering a 5 speed 915 gearbox. To handle the increased power and performance it’s also had uprated suspension and brakes.
This Australian registered 1970 911E (Chassis number 9110201056) underwent a restoration in 2010/11when the car had covered c59,400 miles, to create a 2.7RS replica finished in period white over red Carrera side decals with a retrimmed interior riding on original 15-inch 1973 Fuch alloy wheels with Toyo Proxes R888R road/track tyres. The bodywork is fitted with period-correct features such as the duck-tail spoiler and 2.7-badged engine grille.
In 2016 at c79,800 miles the car was then imported to the UK where it was driven c4,800 miles before being acquired by its current owner in 2021 at 83,960 miles. It was quite apparent at this time that the engine and running gear of the car needed further investment if the car was to truly reflect the attributes of the original 2.7RS. With the advice and support of Porsche specialist Jasmine Porschalink, the current owner had extensive mechanical and drive train investment to ensure a formidable, safe and rewarding drive experience with over £26k of invoices on file detailing the following work
· Acquiring a 2.7 litre engine and having it fully rebuilt and rebored to 2.9 litre with replacement high lift camshafts, bearings, gaskets, conrod bolts, oil pump, engine oil cooler by Jasmine Porschalink and engine rebuild specialist John Holland of Unit 11
· Replacement of Fan Wheel, belts, pulleys, creation of engine brackets, silencer supports, replacement of headlight switch
· Complete set of new tyres, lowered adjustable suspension, wheel bearings and handbrake, performance rated discs and pads front and rear, and a full wheel alignment.
The interior cabin is in great shape, and the seats, carpet and dash-top have been replaced with leather and Alcantara. There is age-related ‘patina’ visible on the ignition key surround, steering wheel, and gear knob.
Service History
· In May 2022, Jasmine Porschalink performed a service at 87,000 miles.
· In November 2023 Jasmine Porschalink performed a major service when the engine was rebuilt at 88,270 miles and the car has driven circa 2,000 miles since that rebuild and is now nicely run in.
