Vehicle Description

A superb opportunity to buy this very special Porsche 924 Turbo Series 2 restored to a very high level by Porsche Centre Bolton in 2014 as part of the 40 year anniversary of the Porsche Turbo. A complete restoration file of “Project 931” containing photographs and commentary of the restoration and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity comes with the car.
The 924 Turbo was met with high praise from the automotive community and journalists alike. It was celebrated for its supercar-like performance and impeccable handling, with build quality, general attention to proportion and more purposeful aesthetics garnering universal approval. In their comparison against the Aston Martin V8, Porsche 928, Porsche 911 3.0SC, BMW 635 CSI and Lotus Eclat 523, Motor Magazine found the 924 Turbo to be joint second in top-speed (achieving an average of 142 mph) and second in 0-60 mph acceleration (achieving a time of 6.9 seconds) being topped only by the Aston V8 at 145 mph and Porsche 911 at 6.5 seconds respectively, a remarkable feat considering the difference in displacement and price between the models.
Our car is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four, producing around 177bhp, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 4,320 miles indicating a true mileage of 104,320 miles.
Manufactured in December 1981, this right-hand drive 924 Turbo was supplied new in 1982 to a British Army Major by Porsche Centre Paderborn in Germany, before it was registered in the UK in 1983.
Finished in the Lhasa Green metallic over a brown vinyl-trimmed interior, with pinstripe brown cloth seat inserts and complementary brown carpets. With 15-inch ATS ‘Spiders Web’ alloy wheels, shod in Michelin XWX tyres. The factory specification includes pop-up headlights, a rear windscreen wiper, a four-spoke steering wheel, manually operated windows, heater and ventilation controls, a Blaupunkt Cambridge cassette stereo, a heated rear windscreen, electrically adjustable door mirrors, a top-tinted windscreen, a removable sunroof panel, and green tinted glass all round. A hidden Bluetooth module has been connected to the Blaupunkt stereo for enhanced usability.
The car is accompanied by a spare wheel, tools, a sunroof cover, the V5C, two keys, and comprehensive restoration file and a file of invoices going back to 2014 and a USB drive containing details of the restoration carried out by Porsche Centre Bolton.
The car has had a major service and pre-sales inspection at Jasmine Porschalink and an MOT until 8 September 2023.
This Porsche 924 Turbo Series 2 is a beautiful 2014 restoration by an official Porsche Centre as part of a competition celebrating 40 years of the ‘Turbo’ badge. This is an opportunity to acquire a special 924 Turbo that runs well and looks great – a great addition to any Porsche collection.
