The Mercedes-Benz W123 is a range of executive cars produced from November 1975 to January 1986. The W123 models sold 2.7 million units before the production ended in the autumn 1985 for saloon/sedan and January 1986 for coupé and estate/station wagon.
The W123 became a hit with the public and the slow first year production launch to ensure the high and consistent quality, meant customers who placed their orders faced a lengthy waiting period of nine to twelve months.
Like its predecessors, W123 gained the reputation of being over-engineered, well-built, durable, and reliable. Many taxi companies chose W123 for this reason, and they were common sight in Germany. Reaching 500,000 or 1,000,000 km with minor mechanical issues was common with W123 used as taxicabs.
Our car has covered 68,600 miles and 4 owners and has been so well looked after with a wonderful file of invoices evidencing servicing and maintenance and a little note book running from 2000 showing all expenses and repairs listed on the car. The bodywork is in a beautiful shade of blue and in excellent condition and the car sits on clean Mexican Hat wheels. The blue Mex-Tec interior is simple and robust with limited signs of wear showing the high quality and durability of the manufacturer. The car has a fuel injection 2.3 litre petrol engine and drives beautifully.
This car would stand well in any collection and can be driven daily or on special occasions and would not look out of place amongst its modern peers. Absolute class.
